ABOUT MICHAEL TIMM
Michael graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Motion Picture Production and Literature. He accepted his first position with Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute in Utah. For the next three years, he administered the prestigious Screenwriter and Filmmaker Labs at Sundance, served as Festival Press Screening Manager, and became an active Sundance affiliate.
During this same period, while freelance writing & directing, Michael earned himself an ADDY Award in Commercial Television.
In the late nineties, he teamed up with Jason Marchi and launched the New Century Writer Awards® into orbit. As Managing Director, he helped chart the course of NCWA, and developed alliances and solicited support from top industry names such as: Francis Ford Coppola, Ray Bradbury, Alice Arlen, SONY Pictures Entertainment, and Fox Searchlight Pictures. The NCWA has produced many careers domestically as well as internationally.
Currently, Michael still consults for New Century Writer Awards® from Los Angeles. In addition, he has recently developed new screenplays, managed several feature productions, worked as Project Manager for worldwide DVD production, and also works as a location scout/manager for international clients such as BMW. His clients include: Warner Bros., O’Hara/Klein Ventures, Day-O Prod, Stage 29 Prod, and Ed Walsh, original writer of Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can.
As a writer/director, Michael is currently shopping two screenplays about town: a romantic comedy, I’m With Stupid, and an action comedy, Not The Way We Planned. This year will mark his directorial debut shooting Echo Charlie Watson, a digital romantic thriller discovering a loner’s past life as a POW in the Korean War.
